special door assembly complete with window, interior and exterior

Finland. Timed thermostatic temperature controls, magnetic contactor
assembly, dimmer controlled recessed vapor tight light fixtures,
wooden bucket, dipper, thermometer, hygrometer, wooden floor slats,
heater railing, headboards, rocks and operating instructions.

Interior wall and ceiling boards all kiln dried Premium Western Cedar.
Full specification 1 x 4 V-joint, tongue and groove, blind nailed.

Applicable sauna heater sizes are calculated to provide maximum sauna

Custom built rooms are designed to meet your particular space and use
requirements or in accordance with your architect's specifications. A
Finlander Sauna can be built into any shape or size space. Ask your

 Under bench lighting system: Illuminates the space between the upper
and lower benches with indirect LED lighting to create an inviting
atmosphere. Installed in addition to standard recessed ceiling
lighting.
Stereo speaker system. High temperature rated, designed for connection
to separate or central sound system.
Glass panels, windows, vision lights. Double and triple pane insulated
glass panels make rooms seem significantly more open. Custom made to

materials standards to shave costs and speed up installation time.
Finnish American Sauna will not. Also, since only selected highest
grade materials are used, defects from irregular or marginal
components are non-existent.   

 Beautifully finished full width vertical grain floating benches
constructed with 2 x 4 blind nailed and doweled boards rather than the
usual 1 x 4 or 2 x 2 used by others. 'L' shape double level open
design along 2 walls maximizes usable area. Lower benches extend all
the way back to walls. No vertical faces between bench levels, allows
for easy cleaning and an open feel.  

  All materials and components are completely blind nailed, this
includes all walls, ceiling, benches, door, heater railing and floor
slats. No exposed metal fasteners of any kind.  

  No wood to floor contact. All walls and bench supports are out of
contact with the floor. Cleaning is facilitated and potential dry rot
is eliminated. 

 Best heat retention - due to thicker wall construction, better
insulation, foil vapor barrier and full specification 1 x 4 T&G
interior. All resulting in higher overall 'R' value.  

 Available only with the finest rock type heating systems and controls,
made in Finland. In all cases externally mounted, remote
timed/thermostatic controls are used. Finnish American Sauna does not
recommend heaters with built-in controls.  

 Finlander saunas are complete with all components and accessories.

 Finlander Pre-Cut Sauna Kits include everything you will need to
complete your authentic sauna room from the framing inward. All you
need to do is provide the framing, insulation, and exterior - we’ll
send you the layout plans. When you are ready to complete the interior
of your sauna, we will supply you with a premium pre-cut material and
equipment package made exactly for your room, including everything
necessary to complete the job. Any size and shape room can be
accommodated. 

 Finest grade selected clear kiln dried Cedar T&G V-joint materials for
the walls and ceiling, cut to exact length - full specification 11/16”
thick 1 x 4; materials are pre-bundled in stacks of ten (10) boards
for easy handling;

2 x 4 boards, blind nailed with face plates bolted and doweled - lower
benches extend completely back to wall for a more finished look. Bench
layouts are designed to maximize  usable seating area in each

adjustable levelers to compensate for sloping floors, also avoid floor
to wood contact. Fully floating bench systems are also available.
Special Pre-hung sauna door unit including solid 2 x 6 rabbit type
door jamb, full length tempered thermopane glass or solid door with
12" x 18" glass window available as an alternate; solid door is
finished on the inside with 1 x 4 cedar to match sauna walls; includes

Step-by-step sauna assembly and use instructions, completing the
package in every respect. This system enables the installer to achieve
superb results the first time at significant savings. 

 If you can't wait to get started on your sauna, here are some tips to
help you begin:

When framing your room in preparation for a Finlander Pre-Cut Package
use premium 2 x 4 studs that are dry and straight. Install studs and
ceiling joists on 16" centers. Lower the ceiling height to 86" from
finished floor to bottom of ceiling joists. Floor should be water
resistant tile, vinyl or sealed concrete. A perimeter base should be
used. Finnish American Sauna can provide a detail sheet upon request.
Door rough opening size for residential rooms is typically 26 1/2"
wide by 82" high. Commercial saunas requiring handicap access  the
rough opening is 38 1/2" x 82”high. Alternate size doors are available
– but keep in mind the idea is to minimize the door size to reduce
heat loss when the door is opened.
Measure the width, depth, and height of your sauna room to the inside
faces of the wall studs and indicate these dimensions of the Pre-Cut
Field Measurement Form and return it to Finnish American Sauna.
(Please make note if room is not square).
Insulate between the wall studs and ceiling joists, ideally with
kraft- faced fiberglass insulation. R13 in walls and R30 in ceiling,
vapor barrier toward sauna. The room should also be sheet rocked prior
to installation of the sauna. This will reduce heat loss.
If you are using an electric sauna heater, determine the 220 volt
power requirement for your heater from the chart in the heater
brochure and have your electrician run this wire to the heater
location. See installation guide for details. 110 volts will be needed
at the location of the remote controls, usually adjacent to the door,
approximately 5' above the floor. Finnish American Sauna can send all
needed electrical boxes and light fixtures in advance so rough
electrical work can be completed before installing the pre-cut
material and equipment package. You will be pleased with the ease of
installation of your Finlander package where absolutely the finest
materials and workmanship have been used.
